First snapshot of the little one

Last Saturday I printed out the first picture of the baby... I don't know if you can make it out, but the head looks soooooo big compared to the rest of its body... What a lovely photo this is to me...

It was really exciting to see it move at the doctor's ... We saw the baby jump on the screen, but then it went back to sleep and didn't want to move anymore...

This is the second baby to us, but it's just as exciting as the first... =)

I hope it'll grow to be healthy and happy baby...

Can Men and Women Really be Equal?

Just some fun facts about men and women:

1. A woman speaks about 7,000 words a day; a man speaks about 2,000.

2. A woman spends an average of 2 years of her life time looking at herself in the mirror; a man spends 6 months.
However, men look at a reflection of themselves as often as womnen do; it is just that women take longer looks due to more necessary maintenance a woman has to do in front of a mirror.

3. 14% of 25-34 year old men live with their parents. 8% of 25-34 year old women live with their parents (US Census Bureau).

4. 80% of school discipline is done to boys.
High school dropout: 80% boys, 20% girls.

5. Men that are fat are happier than thin men. Fat women are not. Researchers in Boston studied 45,000 men and discovered that fat men are 42% less likely to commit suicide than men with no extra weight.

6. There are about 3 million teachers in the United States. 75% are women; 25% are men.
In elementary schools, 91% of teachers are women, and 9% are men.

7. 70% of men shower daily. 57% of women shower daily (Harris Interactive).

8. Women should not blame men for “not listening.” It is not their fault—this is the scientific explanation according to Discovery.com.
Since women’s voices have many more frequencies than men’s, the human brain must work harder to analyze sound frequencies and comprehend the meaning intended.

9. The right side of the brain is more developed in men, making them better at visual and spatial skills (eg: directions), while the high functioning left side of women's brains make them better at both written and verbal language.

10. Although men's brains are bigger, women have more neurons densely packed within the brain, making men and women equally as smart.

11. Both men and women pass the same amount of gas...over 200,000 farts or 15,000 quarts of air in a lifetime.

12. At 12 years old boys cry just as much as girls, but by age 18 women cry 4 times more than men due to their surge of estrogen.

Children are honest

Now that I'm entering the third month of my pregnancy, I'm reliving (and fearing) one particular moment of my first pregnancy.

I was having dinner with my husband when I ran into a young girl in the restroom. She took a look at me and said, "Tante, you look kinda fat!". I was mortified! I guess to her, I DID look fat because I was in that awkward period where I didn't look pregnant, just a woman with a beer belly!

Children are honest and they always tell you the truth. I'm starting to wonder when the next child is going to point out that I look fat. This time, I'm going to defend myself and tell her that it's not my fault! It's the baby inside of me!!
